H04 – First Due Firemanship

8 hrs hands-on session, (Saturday May 26th, 0800hrs) Live Fire, turnouts, scba, and eye protection required

This course is designed to allow the student to gain repetition in responding to structure fires, with limited staffing in realistic scenarios. This class will allow the student to be involved in first due tasks, under live fire, while incorporating critical thinking, decision making, leadership, and coordinating with other companies for a successful outcome. Students will work in rotations including Firefighter Rescue, Engine Company Operations, Forcible Entry, and Search and Rescue. Each rotation will also contain a leadership component, designed to enhance effective communication, leading from all levels of the fire service, and lessons learned to assist the student in gaining a deeper knowledge of functioning as an effective team.
