H17 – Aggressive Primary Search: One chance to get it right

8 hrs hands-on session, (Saturday May 26th, 0800hrs) Live fire, turnouts and scba required

“My children are upstairs, I couldn’t get to them….please save them!” You look at the house and see the heavy, black smoke and know that those children don’t have much time to live. Are you and your crew up to the task? You better be. Your next decisions and actions may well determine life or death for the people trapped by fire. You have one chance to get this right. The seasoned Aggressive Primary Search instructor group will help you build a solid skill set for conducting effective, efficient, and rapid searches. Through live fire and open air drills the student will practice and begin perfecting their search methodology. The skills learned from basic to advanced will help you organize and conduct searches in the most challenging and dynamic situations. Students will rotate through teaching scenarios focused on individual search skills, team orientation, go no go decisions, search with the can, and rapid victim removal. This is a fast paced, physically and mentally challenging class designed to push you beyond your comfort zone. From Rookie to Chief, all levels of firefighters will learn ways to “get after it” when you only have one chance to get it right!
